Airport Security

So I just went through security at the airport and the lady looked at me like I was a total idiot when I said I wanted a pat down instead of going through the screening. She even asked why. Am I the only one that's heard you aren't supposed to go through those?! On another note she threw away my tummy butter because it was 4 ounces not 3. She had such an attitude about everything that I'm still fuming!

Re: Airport Security

  • Ugh I hate people that work at airports. They are so friggin crabby. Is she even allowed to ask why you want a pat down instead? You should have thrown an ounce of the tummy butter at her face and took the 3 ounces with you.... hahah sorry.

  • I'm sorry. That sucks. I did hear that it is suggested you get a pat down. I actually just read it in the Girlfriend's Guide to pregnancy. Don't worry about her attitude. It's probably because she doesn't like her job. Just know you're going in vacation a

I personally HATE those full body scanners and always opt for a pat down. The 4 times I have gone through them I wasn't asked, I wasn't treated differently, and when it was a male working, he first asked if it w

  • Add me to the list of the few then too. I would demand a patdown as well. But hey, at least you can bring a knife on the plane.

  • There would be big signs in the airport warning pregnant women not to use the machines if they really weren't safe.

And I don't really feel bad about your lotion getting tossed. That's been a rule for 12 years.

  • The backscatter doesn't make anyone safer. They give people an illusion of safety. In order for them to actually do anything everyone would have to go through them. Their use was always random at best, TSA stops using them at peak travel times, and in mos

  • The amount of radiation you expose yourself (and your baby) to while actually in the air is more of a concern than walking through a full body scanner. And flight attendants'/pilots' kids aren't at a higher risk for badness, I don't believe.

  • I opted for the pat down on our recent trip out of town (on the outgoing trip) due to my OBs recommendation based on lack of long term safety data. I felt a little violated during the pat down. Thankfully I opted for the private room because she was so
