It depends on what kind of birth control it is. I'm going to be getting Mirena at 7 or 8 weeks postpartum because its not related to any kind of supply issues. Talk to your OB or midwife - they'll know best.

I'm doing an IUD this time. But I nursed DS and used the mini pill. It's supposed to be effective when used in combination with breastfeeding. Talk to your OB or MW about what options would be right for you.
