formula change (poop)... WDPT?
DS was on similac advance, as that's what they use in the hospital. it looked like he was pretty gassy and having some gas pains, especially with bowel movements. he was only pooping about once a day although the consistency/color was normal. he just seemed uncomfortable. he is a super content baby though so he was really fussy, but he seemed to have gas pains and trouble getting comfortable. we decided to switch him to enfamil gentlease, we had a lot of success on it with DD and its made specifically for gas. its been about 2 days now. he was kind of off today, not sleeping a lot and kind of cranky on and off, but i dont know if its the formula or if its just an off day. after the morning bottle he slept a bit but then woke up to poop and was fussy afterwards and seemed like he couldnt get comfy enough to go back to sleep. (i should add that he eats every 4 hours and had been sleeping for 3 in between bottles. we always burp every ounce and afterwards, and we keep him upright for 20 minutes and try to burp again). after the second bottle we had to go out and he fell asleep in the car. we stopped at MIL's and he woke up while there and was fussy and crying. we left and he fell back to sleep in the car until he was due to eat again. he ate at 4 and didnt fall asleep until about 6. he was a little fussy but not terrible. he only slept for 30 minutes and then woke to poop. i changed him and then he was fussy and crying. he kept crying/yelling out like he was in pain, which i assume is gas, though he burped plenty after he ate and just pooped. he seems to be calm now, he is swaddled and has his paci.
also, his poop is different than before. it was not smelly at all until yesterday/today and now it smells terrible. also this last one seemed more green than the mustardy color it had been. maybe a little softer but not diarrhea by any means. and he definitely pooped more the last two days than when he was on the similac.
so do you think i made a mistake switching him? i feel like i may have made it worse and i feel awful. at first i thought maybe he was pooping more because this formula is easier to digest and so he was having an easier time pooping. but he also seems more fussy. i just dont know.

I think it's hard to know. I started J on Enfamil Newborn formula from BM on Monday. Today he has been very fussy and I also wonder if he is gassy. I think Im going to give it until tomorrow and see if today was just an off day. I also have some Gentle
