Pregnant after a Loss

XP: For those considering MaterniT21

Just an FYI:  I recieved my lab order/concent form from OB's office.  So I decided to call the company (Sequenom) to confirm that $235 would be the most OOP I'd have to pay.  The rep I spoke with said that it was an old policy but that they will honor it.  She asked my for my OB's name and who she was affiliated with.  Not sure why.  So I will be having my blood drawn tomorrow.

I asked her how the bill would come and she said it would be for the full amount. From what I understand, I believe it's over $2000!  She didn't tell me that but things I've read lead me to believe that is the case.  She told me that a letter would accompany the bill that explains to call the company. Upon calling they will adjust your payment amount and honor the $235.

Just wanted to give a heads up to those thinking of having the screening done and are leary of the price.  I know that we couldn't have paid over $2000, and the $235 is what appealled to us.

Hope everyone's having a great day!

ETA: I would suggest calling Sequenom to confirm the pricing prior to having the bloodwork just to be sure!

  • I'm glad they still honored the deal for you, even though it's old.

I had the testing done because there were some ambiguities that appeared at the NT scan, but it was covered by my insurance. Sequenom STILL sent me the bill, for the full am

  • I had to pay up front when I got my blood drawn at the hospital. I just filled out a form with my HSA card information and never got a bill. So look on the form you've been given for the test and write in your information and $235 payment if you can.</
