I perfer heart burn to puking and I think vinegar would make me hurl.
I've never heard of vinegar.
I've heard of baking soda though!!
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
NAY NAY NAY. As a long time acid reflux sufferer, I can assure you that adding acid to acid is NOT a good idea. Try starchy things. In particular, soda crackers and milk or just go to your dr and ask for something if it's that bad. I take losec (omnapreznole - sp?) and it is safe during pregnancy.
Good luck and hope it goes away soon. Despite my meds, soda crackers, tums, malox etc, I've had heart burn since about a week before my BFP. I'm hoping the trend does not continue!
Oh my god, no! No vinegar or pickles! Both are highly acidic and will irritate your existing heartburn. For new onset heartburn, take TUMS as directed. If it doesn't help, Zantac 150 is the next step. If that doesn't work, talk to Dr.
Diet modification, not eating too late, sleeping with the head of the bed elevated, and prevacid is what helped me get rid of my heartburn. Please page me if you have any questions and good luck!
