I may or may not have started a facebook war with an old friend (who now I will never speak to again) it goes as follows.

Ex- Friend: If you want to get into religion sit down and buckle up...God doesn't hate gays....he hates the sin...not the sinner.....I am saying homosexuality is a perversion of nature...a sickness... much the same as a serial killer
me: No thank you. Religion has nothing to do with equality. Nothing. Maybe you don't realize that everyone is not a Christian? Your church may never marry or except gays and that is their choice. If your argument against equality is based in religion then it has no place in government.
Ex-Friend: I believe you started with religion, I'm just going with that point of view. If you want a secular point of view, here it is. When humans were created, however you may view this, they were created as a male and a female with the purpose of reproduction in mind. It is IMPOSSIBLE for two humans of the same gender to conceive a child naturally. This is the same course in nature. Wolves, which are mammals, have life long partners have a partnership with a male and a female again because "nature" says this is how it is to be. What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong and being right and following the "right" path is rarely fair or equal. Having a gay being able to marry a gay is no different than a serial killer being able to kill. A gay believes they are born this way and because of this it must be right. A serial killer is born with the desire to kill and because of this it is right. What is the difference? A serial killer is inflicting harm on someone? Gays do this every day. The gay society is the most promiscuous group in the world. This causes death and disease to spread rampantly. I will now bring back the religion aspect. Marriage is an act you go through in front of God and your friends and family. This is why most people get married by a pastor in a church because it is a holy act. This country is in the shape it is in because of the lack of God everywhere. Once we push him aside on one aspect of our lives it is a slippery slope to the bottom.

At the end of the day, God will allow things to happen to change the focus back to him. Is there a reason Obama won? Absolutely, to shift the focus back to God. People don't come to God in their prosperities, they come to him when they have nothing. People don't come to him when everything is going their way, they come to him when they have no other way to turn. Since we have taken God out of every aspect of our lives, He is changing the focus back to Him.
Glory be to God and let His will be done!
And on a side note, let us remember the real reason for Easter. This is not a holiday for candy and furry white bunny rabbits. This is the time Jesus died on the cross to save us from ourselves, us being morons and trying to make our own rules to justify the wrongs we do, so we could spend eternal life without pain, or suffering, with our creator.
I am with out words.. I literally cried and and was sick to my stomach reading his words. I know there are people like this but to compair gays and serial killers together as one in the same? I can't even begin to think of what to say to him or to just delete and move on.
As for TTC I am on CD 4 of Cycle 6 and I had a BPF dream where the test had 15 lines and I had to ask my Dad to read it ... awkward

For the record, I am a Christian and agree with you 100%- your ex-friend makes me sad. I have homosexual family members - they are just as beautifully made as anyone else, and to believe differently is deplorable. Not all of us are crazies!

I hate the comparison of gays to serial killers, pedophiles, people who are into beastiality, etc. It is not comparable. It's two consenting adults wanting the same rights as a heterosexual couple have. <
