Shooting Pain to Cervix

Starting this morning, I have been having off and on shooting pain to my cervix. Not pain as in need to cry- more like just a shock that stops me in whatever I'm doing. Is anyone else starting to experience this? I have no idea if this is just the baby punching me for fun, or if it has to do with the baby dropping or the cervix effacing or anything like that.

    Sounds like lightening crotch, which is totally normal.

    This has been happening to me too, just starting in the past day or two. I think both babies have dropped a bit and are competing for the same space.

    Yep, I have that a couple times a day. I don't know what actually causes it, but it does make me pause for a moment!

    I heard it is from babies head being down there and also maybe hitting a nerve. I get it too, very weird feeling.

    Yep! What PP said. Sounds like lightning crotch and is totally normal, especially toward the end of pregnancy when LO is heavier and lower. My understanding is the same as PP's, that it's most likely due to pressure on the nerves.
