I dropped off all of our homestudy paperwork at the post office this afternoon! The envelope weighed almost 2 pounds, and contained the following documents:
2 homestudy questionnaires (20 pages each)
10 year residence history (1 page)
Adoption Services Agreement (3 pages)
Authorization for Background Checks (1 page)
Firearm Statement (1 page)
Clients Rights & Responsibilities (4 pages)
Statement of Understanding (1 page)
Waiver of Confidentiality (1 page)
2 copies each of: Driver's License, SS card, insurance cards, birth certificates (7 pages)
copy of marriage license (2 pages)
7 pictures (front of house, living room/inside play area, backyard play area, nuclear family, 1 each of the three dogs)
Copies of vaccinations for all 3 dogs (6 pages)
Floor plan with dimensions and room labels (1 page)
Financial agreement (2 pages)
Tax returns for 2 previous years (first two pages of 1040, 4 pages total)
Altogether that's about 81 pieces of paper. O_O And that doesn't include the physicals, personal and pastoral reference
letters, or our initial application, plus employment verifications, etc.
that have already been requested/mailed out. It's insane, lol.
Next steps: wait to be contacted to schedule seminar (2 days) and interviews (3 days, including 1 in our home).
Re: One step closer!
Congrats! So exciting.
I remember being on MM one day, and someone asked what was the first thing you spent money on that day. I said it was postage for our homestudy documents. It was a good feeling
