Babies: 9 - 12 Months

What age do you stop using changing table?

Just curious... noticing DD getting awfully long on it (though she is 100th percentile height too...) - she is also super squirmy and tries to roll over and crawl off the edge...of course that won't be any better if I change her on the floor.

Just wondering what age that is usually given up??

Re: What age do you stop using changing table?

  • i would say when she's too long. DD is going to be too long for hers in about a month.  i've had to put an additional changing pad (like the one that comes in the diaper bag) at the top so she doesn't hit her head on the ledge.

  • My 2 year old nephew still gets changed on his, and he's very tall too.
  • I've always found it easier to change Joseph on the bed or on the floor. His changing table has been put away. It was just a collecting spot for piles of clean clothes.

  • Now.  My son throws huge tantrums while changing diapers or clothes.  Poor kid doesn't want to sit still anymore.  We do everything on the floor now.
  • We used it until Liam was out of nappies at 2 years. He's really tall but as long as his bum was on the table it didn't matter. Ours is a stand alone table..I imagine if yours was a sideways table that was part of a unit then as soon as DC was too tall.
