lol. DH says the same thing. He won't go near them, if he can help it. He won't even let me eat them in the car with the windows up. (he caved this time as I kinda played the "I'm PG and want boiled peanuts!" card. haha

  • Oh, they can be too salty. I am normally a texture person, but not with boiled peanuts!

I think I know where you mean. That's off Hwy 92. It crosses over I-575. The Bowling Alley and DQ are just east of the interstate.

  • I love boiled peanuts. DH and I went to Charleston for the honeymoon and he fell in love with them. I grew up in the South so they have always been soemthing that I have enjoyed.

  • I'll be in Dothan, AL for Christmas and can't wait to get these.

Mmmmm.  Love the hot sac of wet nuts!!

In the south, you can find them almost anywhere (esp on the side of the interstate/ exit) or you can buy them canned at the grocery store.

They are peanuts still in the brine/shell that are boiled with a bit of salt till they are really soft and almost mushy inside. (Though, the 'mushy' ones are icky to me. I just like them soft).  They are best when eaten hot but still pretty good after being refrigerated. Big Smile
