  • I'm so sorry about your loss.  To be perfectly honest, most people view showers as events for first time moms, regardless of how long it's been since your last child and whether or not you have your baby gear, it's seen as the parents' responsibil

  • I'm very, deeply sorry for your loss but you had one shower, you aren't entitled to another for your fourth child.

You had a shower for your first, and you (understandably) discarded your baby items after your loss but that doesn't

  • I am sorry for your loss, and congrats on #4.  I'm sure this is an emotional time for you.

Wanting a shower is one thing.

Asking for someone to throw you a shower is completely different.  I don't think it's ever appropriate to as

  • Are you wrong? No, everybody wants a shower, but you have a 4 year old, so I would say that your kids are a little close to expect somebody to throw you a shower. I mean, I don't mind 2nd showers at all, if they're offered, but it doesn't seem like anybod

  • If someone offers to throw one for you and its the "norm" in your group of family/friends for 2nd+ showers i say go for it. But if no one offers, then don't go asking for one. You will be surprised how you might get "showered" with gif

  • I am very sorry for your loss. However, no one is entitled to a shower and personally I am not a fan of second plus showers.
  • I agree with the PPs-- no to a shower unless you get an offer.

I also want to offer my sympathy.  How awful for you to have to go through that.

  • dThank you all for the sympathy.  The reason I would like a shower is my first one I had 9 years ago was all was more like a family gathering with gifts for baby. I spent the entire time going through contractions. I have gone to many showers sinc
