My SIL is dumb.

Yes. She's 35 weeks pregnant and we all know we get to a point where you are giant and over being pregnant. However, she's convinced her doctor is going to induce her at 36 weeks because the baby is big and "the last few weeks don't matter anyway".

1 one word. Csection. Big babies don't mean inductions when you aren't even full term.

2 the last few weeks totally matter. Stfu. Tell that to any mom in the nicu.

Oh and she's a nurse....

Ugh. Vent over.

BPF 1. Baby Girl "Petri" 12/22/11 Said goodbye 12/27/11

BPF 2. Baby Boy "Roo" 1/20/12 Heartbeat 160b/m 2/15/12 Said goodbye 2/20/12

BPF 3. Rainbow Baby Boy "Creed"  4/28/12 Born healthy and alive 1/5/13

BFP 4. "Rainbow 2.0" 8/17/14 due 4/28/15

    Good Lord. My bff did this too. She was induced at 36w4d (give or take a day) and her little boy had to be transferred to a higher level NICU hospital. (He's almost 1 now & totally healhy.)She hated herself for it. So fursterating to hear this. I pray her

    Oh good grief.  As the mom of a baby born at 36 weeks, I would have loved to keep him cooking a bit longer to have spared him the IV and blood tests every three hours until he could regulate his own sugars.

    In the absence of a clinical indication, she should be hard pressed to find a reputable ob who would deliver her at 36 weeks. Note the "should". I hope for baby's sake that the doctor is smarter than the mother.  Oy.

    the last few weeks suck... but they matter big time... and H's measurements were off the entire time... they told me 2 days before i was induced that she was 7lbs... she was 6lbs 2oz when she was born.

    It amazes me how anyone can get to be that pregnant and not have a clue. The last few weeks are INCREDIBLY important! Ugh. You can't slap a pregnant woman, so maybe wait until she's about six months PP <img src="https://community.thebump.com/cs/emoticons/e

    Ugh. I'd tell her to get out her nursing books and review her OB material! To begin with, the last few weeks definitely matter. Second, those weight estimates are notoriously off by pounds at times. Also, as a mom who had to be induced, went through 24 ho

    Wow.  That's a shame :(  I was induced at exactly 38 weeks with my DS.. I was induced for pre-e.  DS measured ahead anyway, my BP was all over the place, and I was already 3cm dilated on my own.. the OB said this was her recommendation..ind
