Mobile: Moving up to pre school room question
DS goes to a daycare that has a preschool program that starts at 2.9 (he turns three in early May so he was 2.9 in early February). There's at least one other kid in his room that I know of who is actually older than he is and there may be more and nothing has been said to me about moving him up (and I assume the other little girl would move up first). My concern is that they may not be moving the kids up because they don't have the space for them but unless there's a mass exodus, I'm guessing there won't be a major change up in enrollment until all the kindergarten age kids leave in September.
So two things, would you be ok having your kid "held back" almost 7 months (assuming my guess about the September thing is accurate, of course) and do I say something to the director/what do I say? I mean, they can't change availability but if there are several kids waiting for a spot, should they feel any obligation to do something like bring in more staff so that the kids can move up as they're developmentally able?
Edited because I had a brain fart and said he was moving up to toddler when what I'm actually asking about is moving FROM toddler to pre-school. Duh.

Re: Moving up to preschool room question
I would definitely speak to the director. I would want to know what their plans were. And if they were going to wait until Sept, if they were doing age appropriate lessons and games with the older kids. Or see if they could rotate them through the olde
At our DC they move kids up every few months (like every 3months or so). I wouldn't assume that he's not moving until September. Talk to the Director and ask what their timeframe is for the next move. Think about it this way- there's always
We have this issue in our center right now. B will be eligible in June to move to pre-school. There are no slots and there are actually 2 children in her room right now who are way past eligibility for moving. There are also 3 other children olde

LO started at 10 weeks and her room was until 6 months- the kids who were 6 months moved right away..... when it was LO's turn she was in that room until 10 months because the next room was full. When everyone went to K in sept there was a huge shift a
