Loose Bowels for 2.5 weeks

I hope you guys can give some advice.  Two and a half weeks ago my 15-month-old got her MMR vaccine.  Around the same time, a stomach bug was going around daycare.  One or the other caused her to start to have loose bowels, which have continued ever since.  Her normal poop is rather hard, now it ranges from mushy to occasional liquid.  The frequency has pretty much stayed the same.

Last weekend we did the BRAT diet with milk and had no luck.  This weekend we did it again but without milk, substituting Pedialyte.  It helped minorly.  My doctor's office said that it should work by Monday, but it doesn't look like it has worked.  Her mood is fine, but she hasn't been eating nutritiously for the past 2.5 weeks at all, because if we give her fruits and vegetables her diarreah gets even worse - to pure liquid.  I'm at my wits' end.  Has anyone been through this?  Any advice?

  • I would also try yoghurt with active cultures or those bio gia drops of something similar. Maybe her good gut bacteria took a hit with the illness
