Be honest. How bad is...

I have ALWAYS wanted to name a future child after my grandmother, Ellen.  Unfortunately, my last name is Kelly and I'm afraid "Ellie Kelly" will earn quite a bit of teasing.  Should I just let it go? My husband thinks I'm ridiculous.  I know we could go with Elle or some variation, but I have a hard time thinking I'll be able to avoid Ellie.  So, is it that bad?

  • If they do say Ellie Kelly, what's so bad about that?  It just rhymes.  Unfortunately they are more likely to say something like "smelly kelly" which would actually be mean and that's your last name with no way to change that.

  • I thought of "Helen Keller" before "Ellie Kelly".  I really don't think it's a big deal that they rhyme since Ellie is only a nickname.
