Help - childproofing

Since we're actually talking about parenting today: 

I need a childproof lock for a swing door handle like this at my mom's.  J was able to open the door at the pedi this week, and I need a lock for my mom's upstairs door:

Will one of these work?  I've never had to childproof one of these kind of handles.

  • We have those doors too and the only child lock my DD can't get through with those handles is a baby gate placed right under the handle.  She isn't tall enough to pull up on the lever to open it.  I have tried the ones that go over the handle an

    13 yr old boy with ASD, ADHD and PICA, 11 yr old boy, 3 yr old Girl, & baby Girl.

  • But can he lift the handle up? As long as he has to lever it down instead of up the baby gate works.
