Hi all!  We are the parents to a wonderful little boy who truly makes my heart smile everyday.  A little bit about me..  I never thought I would have any kids.  I was loving life as a single woman and could personally relate to every single episode of 'Sex and the City'.  But, I met my DH when I was 35 and my life as a single came to a screeching halt.  We had our little guy almost 2 years later.  He is amazing and we love being a little family of 3 (well 5 if you count the two cats, which we do!)

 I had mixed feelings at first when we made the decision to be OAD, and can't say that if I was a little bit younger, we wouldn't have more.  But, I am almost 41 and honestly, I don't feel like I have the energy to have another one.  DS is four and is off and running from the moment he wakes up to the moments he goes to sleep. He's a very happy and vibrant child, and I wouldn't want him any other way.  But, the thought of having another is just plain exhausting :)

 I'm happy to see this board come together.  It's nice to see that others feel the same way we do about having just one.  I'm looking forward to chatting with you and sharing ideas, while helping each other overcome challenges that are sure to come our way.
