Grayson Patrick is here!!

Grayson Patrick was born yesterday at 5:06 pm, 8 lbs 7 oz, 21 inches long and is just the sweetest little boy you ever saw. I came in to ld on Wednesday night, 9 days late, for cervadil completely closed and posterior.

By Thursday at 7 am, I was soft, 1.5 cm and ready for pitocin. Things went slowly through the morning. At 9 I got my epidural. Man, was that wonderful! Around lunch time, he was having late decels, so they turned off the pitocin and put me on oxygen for an hour or so. We gradually removed the interventions and he was doing ok on the pitocin again. At this point, I was prepping myself mentally for a c section. Then around 2:30, I was feeling pressure down below during contractions. Being at ftm, I thought maybe my epidural was wearing off. I told my nurse and she decided to check me. Sure enough, I was 10 cm and ready to push! I seriously couldn't believe it. 2 hours later, he was here and honestly, the pushing really was not that bad at all. Not what I had made it out to be in my mind. I have a second degree tear and am sore, but just so very in love with our precious boy! All four sets of first time grandparents are too : good luck to all the remaining mamas out there and just because you're induced, doesn't mean c section!
