Switching to soy formula

For those moms using soy formula, why did you put your LO on the soy instead of regular milk based formula? My LO has been extremely colicky for the past 10 days or so and the pediatrician wants to try a soy based formula as the next option. LO isn't vomiting and is only really colicky during the day from when he wakes up for the day until he goes to bed at night and doesn't sleep at all during the day. I'm wondering if the crying/screaming could indicate tummy troubles, but I thought the milk allergies had other symptoms.

He is on a gentle formula right now and that made a big difference but we're still having issues! My husband had to use soy when he was an infant too.

  • Just switched to Similac Isomil Soy RTF 2 days ago. My LO has extreme flatulence and gas pains. Her pedi thinks it is lactose sensitivity. Praying this works!!
