Scrub wearers...

I need advice from others that wear scrubs daily (nurses, hygienists, etc.)

I'm a hygienist so I'm sitting during my appointments and my trusty Dickies brand flare leg pants are starting to dig into my belly. Our office is about to order new scrubs for spring and I'm wondering if I should just get a size up in the same kind or go with the maternity scrubs (which are all in ugly colors). I'm pretty sure I'm just going to get several pairs of black maternity ones, but I thought I'd get some other opinions also.

Re: Scrub wearers...

  • I am also a hygienist. Luckily the doctor lets me wear my black yoga pants and a scrub top. On other days I wear a size up (I am usually a small and the other girls are a medium, so they let me wear their size since we wash everything in house)

  • I HATE maternity scrub bottoms. I say go with the next size up.

  • I went with the next size up of the drawstring.

  • I went a size up and with ones that have a fold over yoga type top, they are okay but difficult to keep up all day long.
  • With my last pregnancy I couldn't get maternity scrubs b/c I have to wear hunter green and no one made them so I got one size up draw string wink scrubs and they were fine but I would have loved to have  had maternity- it's hard to keep tops long eno
  • I'm a nurse, and I would have to say go up a size. I love urban, and they are draw string, and  I have no issues with them so far...

  • I got a size up in regular pants and I have a pair of maternity scrub pants. I prefer the size up pants. I bought the Cherokee brand and I really don't like the fit. If you can try them on in a store I would do that first before ordering online. Hope this
  • I got one size larger in pants but maternity tops. The larger tops were tight on my belly and crazy baggy everywhere else. They just looked weird

  • Thanks for all the responses! And I meant I Wear the Cherokee brand pants, not dickies. Looks like the best idea is going a size up!

  • Do the ones you're wearing not have a drawstring? That's the key! Ours are some hospital issue brand but with the drawstring I can tie below my bump or above. Mine are two sizes up.
    Waiting for #3!

  • I wear hospital issued scrubs, and I've already gone up a size. ::sobs:: But I get by with that. I always wear a tank underneath, too... even not pg.

  • I put so much weight on in my thighs really early on and my regular Cherokee scrubs were so tight and uncomfortable. The tops were getting a little snug since my boobs got huge and I couldn't pull them down over my huge hips either.

  • I'm not as far along as you but I have some Cherokee pants (not maternity) that are very comfortable. I've already cut the waist band in one pair of pants that was getting too tight but these pants are so comfy! The waistband is so soft and folds down,
