Realistic Post-baby Expectations

So I'm just wondering what everyone's timeline is for things they are committing to post baby.  I'm due March 25.  Will be out of work till May 6 (at the earliest.  If baby comes late, then I'll be out later)  Dh and I have our 1 year anniversary March 31- No go on that one.  But I bought him tickets to a broadway play on April 21.  A cousin is having a baby shower on April 6 out of state.  I have declined that invitation.  We have another baby shower May 5 that dh and I are both invited to.  I'm not sure about that one (would be planning on bringing baby)  Then June 6th, I have been invited to play in a charity soccer tournament.  Is that too soon?  It's a little more than 2 months post baby.  I have said that if I play it will be a last minute thing and I would really be there more as back up, but is that even realistic?  I'm looking at it as a goal.  (I think)  And as far as taking the baby out and about?  How long are you waiting?  TIA

  • By 3 weeks I felt much better.  DS and I went to the movies the day before 3 weeks.  I'm at 4 weeks now and would feel comfortable travelling. I would like to start exercising, but know I'm supposed to wait 2 more weeks.

  • I guess it depends on what type of labor you have.  I had a very difficult recovery with my first (4th degree tear) and could barely walk for a while.  With my 3rd baby, I came home from the hospital feeling pretty good.  It could go eit
