Any moms have gd while pregnant?

I was fortunate to have an excellent pregnancy with M, so the way I feel now is completely different. I've been feeling just horrible. Dizzy, constant nausea, headaches, and terrible moods. I just figured every pregnancy is different and that I would survive.

I called the dr yesterday though to talk about how I was feeling, and she asked if I had a way to check my blood sugar or if I would come in and get checked. Between my family having multiple diabetics and my husband being borderline diabetic, we had a tester laying around.

I took my blood sugar and it was 200. I hadn't eaten anything in 4 hours, so it was extremely high. This morning when i woke up it was 115, when she said it should below 90. when I talked to my dr, she said to keep track of it until my appt on April 1st. I'm completely lost. I know it can be helped with diet and exercise, but isn't it way too soon to be diagnosed with gd? What can I do in the meantime before my appointment to help with my blood sugar?

ill ask on the high risk board too, but I feel most comfortable here.

  • I have no experience with this.  But I hope they can help you get it under control.  What Panda said sounds like good advice.

  • I answered your post over on the high risk board, but if you have more questions you can page me either here or over there. I've been through it twice, it's not fun but it's all pretty do-able.

  • I had a great first pregnancy, was diagnosed with GD at 23 weeks with second pregnancy and was cleared in my third pregnancy at 24 weeks but was diagnosed at 36 weeks when baby was growing too fast.  Both times I was able to control it with diet.&nbs
