Online Due Date - how accurate?

First timer and honestly curious here...how accurate is it to go online and calculate the due date with your LMP?

Also when is the doc supposed to give you an estimated due date? Or do they not do that anymore?

You can go by LMP but it might change if ovulation was way later. Mine is most likely going to change next week when I go for the 2nd U/S. You can also try to guesstimate by ovulation if you know it.

Good to know! Thanks guys! I only know what online has told me. None of the docs have given me a due date yet. Maybe I'll get one with the nurse on Friday.

At my first appointment my doctor gave me the same due date as the one calculated online.

The Dr will give you a due date, but it can change based off of the baby's growth as you get further along, or if you are having a c-section they typically do it before the due date so that you do not go into labor.
