I'm thinking of starting G next Fall or spring when he's 3. My DH was thinking we shouldn't start him until he's 4.
Our school district doesn't allow early enrollment in kindergarten and the cutoff to be 5 is Sept 1. So, G will be at the older end/closer to 6 than 5 when he starts kindergarten. Maybe this is a good reason to wait and start preschool when he's 4?
Re: CQ: When are you going to start preschool?
We have PreK here at age 4 for free in the public school systems, so he'll go to that. Until then, he'll be in daycare, so he's basically already in preschool there.
We plan on listing our house in late May or early June, so I might wait to see what happens with th
Honestly it all confuses me a little.
If I remember correctly, the daycare DS is at now has both a preschool & a pre-k. There is also public pre-k available. However, you have to be 4 by Oct 1 to enroll in pre-k & 5 by Sept 30 to enroll i
We're just starting to look at some preschools now. Both schools start at 2.5. One is 3x a week from 9:00 - 1:00 and the other one is 2x or 3x a week for 2.5 hours. The first one is a little longer than I was looking for at this stage

We started the triplets at 3, they have done 2 years now of 2 hours a day 3 days a week. We are not starting them in K until they are 6 though, and can't find any affordable PreK's by our new house so we will do a homeschool type year this next year.</
She'll move to the preschool room at daycare this fall if there is room. Our daycare offers preschool to 2.5+ year olds up to K age. So technically she is eligible this spring, but there won't be room until September at the earliest.

if all goes to plan, B will start special ed preschool in September. What I'd like to happen is this:
September 2013 (when he's 2 1/2) - half day preschool (5 days per week, 2 1/2 hours a day)
September 2014 (3 1/2) - full day preschool (5

I wouldn't mind doing a very part time program now, but it's not in our budget right now.
We will definitely take advantage of our state-funded free VPK program. Because of DS' birthday, I think he will end up being 4 yrs 9 months when he starts
