My son still doesn't pick up pieces and put them to his mouth. He will grab them, hold them, push them, etc, but no eating! I have to put it in his mouth to show him. Is this normal? Any tips??

How long are you letting him sit there with the food?
Until they master it, feeding time can take a looooong time before they get food into their mouths. I would probably keep having a go at it and put the pieces on his tray while I was eat
Our little guy did the same thing. It seemed the only thing he didn't put in his mouth was food. I would just keep letting him play with the food and maybe guide him a little. Our LO really liked the yogurt melts from Gerber- I'm pretty sure that's what g
Are you feeding lo when you and dh sit down for dinner? If not try that babies learn everything by imitation plus it's great for a family to eat together.
The only time LO can get it into his mouth is if it is something a little bigger, like a cracker. otherwise little pieces he doesn't understand yet. He'll pick it up, put it towards his mouth, then wave his arm and either drop it or throw it...</

My first did the same exact thing. I spent what felt like forever trying to teach her how to put the food into her mouth after she picked it up and it was very frustrating. Then one day she just started doing it and never looked back.
