Hitting

My 2 year old is hitting. It started about 6 months ago but ended after two weeks, seems its back again. She laughs hysterically and when you say "no, nice hands" and grab her hands she immediately goes to hit again. We've tried yelling, time out, nice hands, pretending to cry, punishing her by putting her in her room and closing the door, anything to get her to cry or else she thinks it's funny and won't stop. What else can we do??

    Pick one reaction and be consistent.  We do time-out for hitting.  Yeah, he laughed from time-out the first few times, but when you keep putting them back over and over, the message sinks in.  Now if we say, stop or go to time-out, he st
