Baby wearing moms

The 2 times I wore my ds when he was a baby I got mastitis so I just quit wearing him. Now with a toddler and a very needy lo, wearing her has been the only way I can function most days. But now I feel like I'm getting clogged ducts in both my breasts. I woke up with very sore breasts and a little red. She has been fussy and I know if I wrapped her in the moby she would be fine but I'm scared now. Does anyone else have this problem? I hear of so many women wearing their babies and never heard about anyone getting mastitis from it but I'm almost positive that's whats causing mine.

Re: Baby wearing moms

  • Never happened to me but I also don't use a moby. Can you try something else that isn't so tight on your chest? I bought a cheaper carrier to use around the house that was only 25 at BRU and it doesn't press on my chest and has great newborn head support.

  • I assumed it was more because the baby was pressed against me, not the fabric. Do you think I hold her too tight maybe? With my ds I used the baby bjorn & dd I'm using the moby so I don't think it's the kind I'm wearing.

Yeah, my guess would be that something is too tight. Do you have a tendency toward plugged ducts otherwise?<br

  • I've never had this problem.  Could it be something else other than the carrier - like the type of bra you're wearing or something?

  • Glad you wrote this post! I have similar issues too when I wear the baby for too long. I know the carrier is not too tight, I have a medium size baby k'tan. I put my baby in a hug position and after a few hours (Yes, I have to have him in a carrier for ho
