Sleep training books?

Does anyone have any sleep training book suggestions? I'm wanting to get my LO to sleep in her crib at least for naps for now and then all night once she is 4 months old. Just wanting to start reading up on it, right now if I lay her in her crib she wakes up instantly. Thanks

  • REad any sleep training book and they'll tell you the same thing: she's too young. Wait until she's at least 6 months old.

For sleep research, even if you don't want to do CIO, I think Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child (?) is a good book, as is F

  • Oh ok, I was just thinking 4 months because that is when they say they are able to self soothe. So is it ok putting her in a crib for naps? Usually I don't mind laying down and napping with her but sometimes I need the free hands.

The crib is fine for naps.

I don't mean this rudely at all -  but 4 months = self soothe just doesn't hap

  • At that age, I just snuggled ds in our bed until he was asleep, then I quietly left the room. He cat napped then, so it isn't like I had a lot time to get stuff done. He definitely didn't self soothe then.

He's just now getting to the point o

  • The 90-minute Sleep Program was very useful in our house.  So was Sleepless in America, really.  I read some other ones, including Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child, and that was an interesting read, but the advice part was mostly various method

  • The 4mo wakeful is a doozy. It is astounding that so many books say 4 months is a great time to start sleep training.

I heard good things about the sleep lady shuffle and she is great if you stay at home and dont mind a little CIO. She has you la
