Induction meds and fetal distress

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good studies on the correlation of induction medications and fetal distress - namely, decrease in fetal heart rate.

I just keep seeing a lot of emergency c-sections performed on healthy babies and moms (who have consistently passed NSTs with no problem) after being given Cervidil and/or pitocin due to a decrease in fetal heart rate.

I am so grateful for my healthy, beautiful baby boy, and that's what really matters. However, his heart rate didn't drop until after my body started freaking out on Cervidil... leading to an emergency c/s. I was at 42 weeks, so it was getting dangerous to wait any longer. I'm just curious if the correlation has been addressed by the scientific/medical community.

Yes, it's pretty established that induction can lead to fetal distress and uterine hyperstimulation. That's why they do continuous fetal monitoring during inductions. I don't have any stats off the top of my head, but look on Google Scholar or
