I need a baby whisperer!

My baby is typically really laid-back and good natured. Lots of smiles, usually very cheerful. Was starting to sleep for long stretches at night. BUT...for the past week and a half, he hasn't slept well (so much fussing, waking frequently at night, difficulty napping), seems ill-at-ease, and overall not quite content and peaceful as he has been for his entire life.....

So WTH is going on?

4 month wakeful? I thought this was a myth, but it seems so real.

Possible teething? Can't feel or see any, but I'm about to haul over to my local "hippie" baby store to buy an amber teething necklace for this kid.

Growth spurt? Rarely at peace while nursing lately.

  • The 4 month wakeful is REAL. I've heard with big babies it starts early which was the case with us. It's been over a month and things are just starting to look up but my once happy napper is now crying before each nap. Breaks my heart. I think we headed f
  • When I mentioned 4 month wakeful to family and friends they look at me like I'm speaking in tongues. So far DS's nights haven't been affected (he's up 2x per night regularly to eat), but daytimes are killing me. Naps are shorter, it's a battle to get h
