BLW ?

We have been doing BLW with DS for about a week, since he turned 6 months. I am having a hard time dealing with the gagging. I try to remain calm for DS and have let him work through it, but it is freaking me out. Last night he vomited while gagging as well, which I know they say in the book is normal. I don't want to give up on BLW. I have done the research, and fully believe in it in theory, but I have a little mini heart attack each time he gags.

So, STMs and those with older LOs, how long does the gagging last? Anyone have to help their LO out at any point while gagging? Any tips to help with it?

It didn't last long for DS. The first week he gagged a few times and that was about it. He gagged the odd time since, but not often.

Sorry to be ignorant, but what does BLW mean? I looked it up in the bump glossary and it wasn't listed.

If the gagging continues and it's concerning you it could mean that you LO isn't quite ready yet. You can put it off and try again in a week or two.

Thanks for the responses. I am thinking of stopping for a few weeks and trying again later. I just don't know if he's ready.
