Prepping for Mat Leave (vent)

So I've been prepping for my mat leave for the past few weeks and have been trying to fill an open AA position to support my boss while I'm out.  Horrible news today - the candidate who had accepted and we were completing a background check on is now returning to school full-time because they got accepted into a program they thought was an extremely long shot.  I'm 39w1d and my boss returns from vacation Monday.  I'm frantically reaching out to employment agencies to get resumes of candidates so at least there's a start to the process before my boss returns but now instead of wanting to go into labor before my due date I feel like I need LO to wait a little longer so I can get a few more things done in the office.

I feel like if I go into labor before my boss has seen any resumes I'm letting her down, but hoping that LO doesn't come soon now makes me feel like a bad mother-to-be, like I don't have my priorities straight.

And I'm not sleeping well at night as it is - add in my mind racing over where I can find solid candidates and how soon I can get them into the office for interviews and I'll be a walking zombie shortly . . .  I literally almost cried when the candidate called to tell me she was withdrawing from the process.

    Don't worry too much. I'm sure your boss understands and knows you are trying your best. I know I tried so hard to prepare everything before I left, but there are always a few things that pop up last minute.

    I had the very same thing happen to me today. Our candidate who had completed the hiring process has accepted another offer. I feel so stressed about having to find another candidate. I will have to supervise this person when I come back from leave, so
