Cloth Diapering

Flats users, please come in...

I've been itching to buy some flats.  My intention would be to pad fold them in a Thirsties duo cover or a Flip cover.  My son is almost 14 months and is an average wetter.  I was just watching some videos on youtube, and the flats look soooooo thin and unsubstantial!  Is that deceiving?  Can I really get away with just one flat, for about 2 hours, like I would with a prefold???  I'll be bummed if I always have to add a booster/soaker, etc.

  • Our flats are made of diaper flannel - which is a bit more substantial than the other flats I've seen, but still thin. When pad folded or origami folded you have lots of layers, and they will get you through at least a couple of hours. I can put DS in one
  • I use Osocozy flats pad folded in Flip covers. I love my flats! I use some pockets, but I use flats more often. I've never had a leak. I do add a small bamboo doubler for naps just for some insurance.
