At my baby sign language class today, I met a mom who named her baby boy Ryver - as in, "His name is River, but I spell it with a Y." I feel so bad being judgy, since I don't know her lyfe, but really? It's not enough to name him River, but to screw it up further with the Y?

Yup, that's pretty bad.

As a teacher, I hear youneek names like this all the time. My personal favorite has been Ant.quainttee. Pronounced Antoinette, of course.

Poor boy. I also hate the Y trend. I never understand why parents give their kids crazy, younique names. Poor Ryver will have a lifetime of correcting his name.
