Parenting after a Loss

Paranoid!

At night when I get up with Shea to feed or change her or whatever, when I put her back to bed (which is the pack and play in my room right now.) I get SUPER paranoid.. I will jump at every sound after I put her down and totally freak. Its like I am so worried something is going to happen while I am sleeping.

Does anyone else experience this? Am I crazy? And I'm sorry if this has been talked about 1000 times- I didn't see a post about it and I need some reassurance.

  • I did that for the first couple of weeks too.  After a few weeks, I kind of learned his normal sounds and relaxed a bit more.  When he had his first cold I was more anxious again.  I definately gets easier!  Hang in there!

I get more worried if I don't hear anything at all, even now that she is 14 months.  I get paranoid and go into her room at night to make sure she is breathing and ok.  It is totally normal, esp for those of us who are PAL.  Hugs to you.

  • Totally normal, I think (I was the same way.  I slept even less than the 2 hour stretches DS slept because I startled and woke at almost every noise).  When we moved DS to his own room I wound up getting a video monitor and LOVE it so that, like
