My sister in law delivered my twin neices last wednesday at 25 weeks.....they are doing great!! Her water had broke at 23 weeks and was admitted to the hospital, then her contractions started last sunday and the twins were delivered by c-section on Wednesday, They weighed 1.5lbs and are doing great!! My SIL got to hold the one twin on Saturday and it was such a special moment. It is incredible to see them and know they are such miracles and even though they are little, they are mighty and fighters! So stay positive and keep your chin up. I know it is very difficult and scary!!
I'm so sorry you're going through this situation. My son was born at 26w3d and spent 10 weeks in the NICU. He's now a little over 2, and doesn't have any lingering effects from his prematurity. We were extremely fortunate with him. it was a tough experience, I won't lie, but we made it through.
A bunch of mamas from the preemie board put together a blog, and the link is here:
That has a lot of great information that you might find helpful, along with a TON of preemie stories.
I hope things go smoothly for you over the coming months. I'm really just a lurker, but I'll be watching for your posts and will try to provide some perspective where I can. Otherwise, you're welcome to PM me. Also, the Preemie board was a great source of support for me.
