I was told same as the others, I'm here in Minnesota, so walks outside are not too fun as I can't walk fast enough to generate heat. So, the ONE walk I took was too cold for me and I didn't feel very good the next day. I need to get some exercise soon for my mental health, I cannot handle staying in the house so much. This Friday is my 6 week check up so I'm praying to the exercise gods I get cleared for regular work outs again.
I started very light walking (30 min outside) on Sunday and have done twice, but I believe it is at least 6 weeks for real exercise.
FYI - there is a c-section board too that might give you some more info.
We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013. We love her to pieces.
We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011. She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.
My doctor told me that I could begin non-strenuous exercise (walking) as soon as I felt ready because it would help with swelling. I was at the gym 1 week PP, but I was hobbling at 1.5 MPH for 15 minutes. I gradually worked my way up...but didn't go faster than 2.5 MPH.
At 6 weeks I was cleared for running, but was told no weights or abdominal exercises until 12 weeks. That seemed to be when my body was ready to do anything other than jogging anyways.
Re: After c/s how long to wait for exercise? I forgot-duh
This. I am just feeling like I can go on walks now though.
I was told to take it easy for two weeks and not start any new crazy exercise before 6 weeks.
Ive been going on walks for a few weeks, but I've been listening to my body because I had a really sore back one day after.
