2nd Trimester

Braxton Hicks

Can I just say, THEY SUCK?! I hardly had them with DD, but last night they were driving me crazy. Only way I could get them to stop was to take a warm shower, lay down with feet up and drink a ton of water. So annoying. ((rant over!)
Married my BEST FRIEND on December 1, 2007. Started TTC in March 2008. Found out we were expecting our first child in October 2008 - but had a m/c in December 2008 - resulting in a d&e. Met with a RE in May 2009 and set a plan - but conceived unexpectedly on our own! Our precious little Sophia was born on February 9, 2010! Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Re: Braxton Hicks

  • I agree! I NEVER had them with DD and now I get them all the time, and so early on! I actually called the OB yesterday bc they are so strong, but not painful. I definitely notice a big difference when I drink extra water (AT LEAST 60oz a day).
Two under two, here we come!

I literally had the phone in my hand last night to call my OB, but once I relaxed and drank some more, they went away. They didn't hurt but were just coming on every 10 minutes or so and were beyond annoying! Going to try and keep up with the drinking MORE water. Oy!

  • Right there with ya, so much more frequent and stronger this time around than last time for me.  I went to the Dr on Fri and they checked my cervix - no dilation, so I just may be one of those lucky people who gets them all. the. time. for the entire pregnancy.  Yay!  And the weird thing is, I get them whether I'm moving around or lying down, drinking tons of water or not.  So annoying.
  • I was in the same position last night. I didn't have them this early with DD.

  • Can anyone describe what they feel like? Not finding a whole lot of info out there about the actual sensation. Just some medical terminology of what is physically taking place.
