Hates the Crib!

My almost 18 month old has recently decided she is not sleeping in her crib anymore.  She will go to sleep in it at the beginning of the night but wakes up between am and am and refuses to go back.  even if she falls asleep and you try to put her back it's 20 minutes tops before she starts screaming.  We tried the "cry it out" approach.  First going in to her room every 10-20 minutes to lay her back down and try to calm her 2 hours, still going strong on the screaming and crying.  Then we tried not going in at all.  Same thing.  Please Help!

    Maybe u can try a toddler mattress or twin on the floor. I used on for both Boys since they were just a few months old. Just be sure the room is safety proofed.
    It can also be she's having major separation anxiety. It can be bad at 18 months. We did the sleep lady shuffle where we progressively moved further away each couple of nights.
    Does she have a night light ? That helped with DS1 sleep better. GL!

    I'd super baby proof the whole room, remove all toys except for maybe a small bookshelf and try a toddler bed with a toddler mattress. I was pg with DD2 and my back went out when DD1 was about this age and so had to switch her early to the toddler bed because I couldn't lift her out of the bed, and it worked out great. Three rough nights of crying and confusion (she also got a whole new room so that was part of the confusion). Talk about the big girl bed all day for a week before starting her in it, make it this huge milestone that she's getting so big and she's ready for a big girl bed. If you're not yet willing to go that route then I would go with Sleep Lady, or the No Cry Sleep Solution. It's helped many of my friends who had these issues.
