Pregnant after 35

High-risk

Anyone else considered high-risk due to other things than their age?

Re: High-risk

  • I am due to a previous pregnancy with preeclampsia...however my doc is doing no extra testing right now.

  • I'm technically higher risk only because I have a 2 vessel umbilical cord. But until they discovered that, I was not considered high risk despite being 38.

  • Yep - abnormally high levels of a protein called Inhibin A. It's linked with delayed growth, preterm birth, and pre-eclampsia. Could turn out to be nothing. At this point I just have more frequent visits and ultrasounds.

  • I am high risk due to having high blood pressure since before pregnancy.  Then when I went to my first appointment my blood pressure was pretty elevated so they had to figure out my meds.  It has been good now.  I also think anxiety was raising it.  Technically I also have thyroid issues.  This is my first child.

  • I'm high risk due to high blood pressure, previous pre-e, and blood clots, other than that my dr doesn't bat an eye at my age.
