We are expecting son number 2. We bought DS1 a really nice nursery set, and are planning on leaving that set in the nursery for this baby. We will be moving DS1 into a different bedroom and will be purchasing new furniture for that room so we can avoid moving all of our heavy furniture upstairs.
DS is not ready to move out of a crib, and I don't think he will be by the time #2 arrives. However, he won't be in a crib for a terribly long time after. DH and I were thinking about buying a very inexpensive (but still good quality) crib set for him, and then buying a nicer toddler set when he is ready to graduate into a "real" bed. We are not planning on converting his crib into his toddler bed, but instead want to buy a more "fun" set and build him his big boy room without the crib furniture.
Now, for the actual question Do you have any suggestions on inexpensive cribs that a very tall 18 month old won't climb out of? Bonus points if it comes with a matching changing table or short dresser. We are looking at this one:

Thanks in advance for any advice!
Re: XP: Nursery (crib set) advice needed
We got a Graco Lauren crib for around $100 from Walmart for DS and have been very happy with it. DS is 2.5 and has never climbed out...we are starting to get him ready for a big bed, though, so we can use his crib for #2. I think a lot of people also like the Ikea crib.
2 unsolicited suggestions: 1. skip the changing table- buy him a real dresser for his new bedroom set and just stick a changing pad on top if you still change him on a changing table....after about 6 months or so, we always just changed DS on the floor because he was too wiggly. 2- wait until closer to your due date to make a decision on this...a lot of people move their kids to "big" beds around 18 months, others at closer to 3....yours may be ready for an early move. Especially if baby spends some time in your room before being ready for the crib.
