First time mom, 2nd pregnancy

Hi everyone,
This is going to be my first time being a mom if everything goes well. I had a miscarriage in December after a month of pregnancy. Currently, I am a month and a half. I had an ultrasound last Friday, but it was too soon to hear a heartbeat. We did see the sac, yolk, and a blinking light that is our baby. This Friday we will have another ultrasound to try to see our baby again, is should be about 6w5d. I'm excited to see our baby growing. At the same time I am super nervous and scared to have another miscarriage. I'm freaking out with any little discomfort that I feel. Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well this time.

  • I will keep my fingers crossed for you!! I know it is difficult not to worry. I also had a miscarriage in December and am now just 4 weeks pregnant.  I am in the same situation as you, second pregnancy and hopefully first time mom! I'm sorry that you experienced a loss and I hope that you have a happy and healthy 9 months this time around.
  • Congratulations on your BFP!!  H&H 9 months to you.

  • Hi there, I am in the EXACT same boat as you. I, too, had a MC in December, (first pregnancy), and find myself pregnant again now - about 6 1/2 weeks along. For the first week or so after finding out this time, I actually counted all the days of what happened in Nov/Dec and compared against where I was now! I felt some relief even passing where I was last time, though I know I'm not out of the woods just yet. I have my first "intake" appt today (I think it's just paperwork) and then will schedule a first U/S after that. I didn't want to do the U/S too early b/c I didn't want to worry if we didn't see much... I am incredibly anxious as well, having just gone through a MC and having friends who experienced several before a successful pregnancy. BUT, I know the chances of multiple miscarriages are drastically less than having one - which is extremely common - and with everyday that goes by and every wave of nausea or cramp that I feel, I get a bit more optimistic. I hope Friday goes well for you and just wanted you to know - you aren't alone in the angst!
  • Congrats!! I understand you're apprehension, I just had a mc last month :/ Hoping and praying that all goes well for you this time!

  • Congratulations!

I hope this is your sticky one!  I had a loss before my daughter, so I know the anxiety.
