We have both and LO loves both of them. He loves the jumperoo because he loves to jump but the exersaucer has more toys on it that he can play with. It all depends on his mood. Plus the exersaucer is more mobile than our jumperoo so we can move it from room to room when needed.
We have both and DD liked both for different reasons. We used the exersaucer earlier but she liked the jumperoo for longer. She won't tolerate being in either anymore (she's tiny and fits fine), but still likes to play with the toys on both.

We only have a jumperoo and my son LOVES it! It is his favorite item. He even likes to jump when we are just holding him these days. He is turning 6 months next week.
TTC Since December 2010*
Me: PCOS, taking Metformin*
DH: MFI*
RE recommended going straight to IVF*
Our next step: DH to see a urologist
Dh had Varicocele surgery 1/10/12.
Surprise BFP on 1/16/12!!! Poor hubby
We have a jumperoo at home and they have exersaucers at daycare. He likes both, but I'd say the jumperoo keeps him engaged for longer since if he gets tired of the toys, he can at least still jump. The exersaucer is more about the toys.
Sorry for the dumb question but what is the difference between them?
Jumperoos are ones that have springs and the baby can jump in them. An exersaucers is more of just a seat with a bunch of toys around them, and the baby can't jump in it (there are no springs in an exersaucer to let them jump).
OP, I use to work at a daycare center, and they had exersaucers. We bought a jumperoo (the Fisher Price one), and I much prefer a jumperoo over an exersaucer.

When did you all start putting your LOs in the jumperoo?
I think O was about 4.5 months when we got our jumperoo. His feet didn't quite touch the ground (they recommend tippy-toes touching the floor), so we put our wii board underneath him. Worked like a charm and he loved it! We now don't need the balance board and he's a jumping fiend! We got it for him because he would be getting fussy on his back, but when we picked him up and got him vertical, he was all smiles. Just loved the new vantage point I guess.

Ours is called an exersaucer but it is more like a jumperoo and DD LOVES it. Here: https://www.target.com/p/evenflo-exersaucer-jungle-quest/-/A-13979832#?lnk=sc_qi_detaillink
I really love this one because it has the stabilizer ball to help baby work its core muscles.
About 4 months. We were still deciding on which one to get. As long as your LO has good head support, and some torso support, it's fine.
