Evenflo Tribute v. Cosco Scenera

We're getting ready to move DS from his infant seat to a RF convertible seat.  We're probably going to get a Britax Roundabout for my car since that's the one he's in most of the time.  However, he is in DH's car some of the time as well as my mom's occasionally.  I was thinking about getting either the Evenflo Tribute or the Cosco Scenera for DH's car (and my mom's if we decide to get a separate seat for her car rather than just moving a seat from one of our cars).  Any experience with either of these?  Advantages?  Disadvantages?  TIA!!!

Re: Evenflo Tribute v. Cosco Scenera

  • I have both of these seats.  They're both good seats but out of the two I prefer the Evenflo Tribute.

I bought the Cosco Scenera for travelling when we go on plane trips because it's inexpensive and very light weight which makes it easy to carry through the airport. However, the fabric is pretty thin and doesn't seem to be a great seat in terms of comfort.

We use the Evenflo as a second seat in DH's car.  The Evenflo has much more cushion/padding and seems to be a much more comfortable seat.

Thanks so much!  This is great info to have.  DS will be in it often enough that I want it to be comfortable, so the Tribute seems to be better in that regard.  Is it relatively easy to install, adjust, etc?

  • How tall is he? I hear good things about the Scenera, but both of those seats are pretty small. According to this site, the top harness slot for both is 14.75". My 2.5 yo is 90th for height, and her seated torso length is already 15", so she's outgrown both.

  • If you can spend a bit more, I would look at the Safety 1st Guide 65 or the Evenflo SureRide. They will both last you quite a bit longer.

This.. And I would skip the Roundabout and go with a Marathon.  It has a higher height and weight limit.

It's really easy to install and adjust.  We haven't had any issues with it :)

  • If you have a Kohl's credit card, you can order the Evenflo SureRide on their website with the 30% off code SHOPNSAVE (through 3/13) which brings the price down to $70.

I just ordered one the other day and added in a pair of pants for my daughter to bring the total up to $75 to get the free shipping, too.
