Do any of you have great crock pot recipes you're willing
to share? Or maybe a website? DH and I are having trouble having dinner ready
for DD by the time we get home from work as we don't get home until 6:15 and DD
is usually hungry by 6:30...TIA!
Search on pinterest - I don't even google for recipes anymore - I search on there. You could try the pesto chicken I'm making now, try some roast, H and I like some pork loin with a bottle of root beer poured on it and that's it. Cook on high for about 5 hours or so and then shred it - but it is so tender it falls apart. Then use it for pulled pork sandwiches. Sounds weird with root beer but it's good!

One of my favorites is canned diced tomatos, beef stew meat, a bit of cinnamon and zucchini. Serve with crusty bread. I put in the zucchini later, but also ahve let it cook allll day and it's been fine.
Chicken breasts with whatever marinade you like in the oven also typically works in the crock pot. Like, italian dressing on chicken, cooked on low.
Same for pork...I do pork chops in the bottom, with a box of stuffing on top and cream of celery soup over the top (mix to moisten stuffing). Or pork chops with a can of cream of mushroom soup on top. I throw in a container of fresh baby bellas.
I just made chicken tacos last night in the crock pot. They were sooooo amazing!! 4 chicken breasts, 1 packet of taco seasoning and a jar of salsa. Low for 68 hours or high for 3 hours. I used cilantro lime salsa. When they're done, just shred the chicken with a fork and dinner is ready!
I also suggest pinterest. I freeze A LOT of crock pot meals and tons of the recipes are from pinterest
1 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes with onion, celery, and bell pepper
1 14 oz can of chicken broth
1 medium red bell pepper, cut into strips
4 tsp Cajun seasoning (I use McCormick's)
1 lb bow tie pasta
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Combine all ingredients except for pasta, cook on high for 3-4 hours. Cook pasta, serve chicken/sauce over the pasta.
It seems like a lot, but it takes about 10 minutes to get everything into the crock pot. And it's delish!! I've added shrimp in there too, which has also been pretty good.

Another helpful hint that I learned a while ago. I bought an older style crock pot (has a knob to turn it on instead of buttons) and a lamp timer. I put all of the ingredients in before I leave for work, turn the knob to high, plug the crock into the timer, then set the lamp timer for when I want it to start cooking.
And the best hint of all - Slow Cooker Liners. These are AWESOME. I wont make anything in the crock pot without them, they make clean up so easy!

We do this one all the time! Serve with small tortillas/taco shells, shredded cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo and avocado. Real crowd pleaser.
I've made this recipe for slow cooker pork chops twice now, and it's been a hit for all of us, including DD both times. We served the chops over rice. Delish!
My favorite go-to crockpot meal is to buy a whole chicken and clean it. Put it in the crock pot with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder on top. Add carrots and broccoli and chopped up potatoes. Cook on low all day. At the end of the day everything is cooked and all you have to do is take it out of the pot. The chicken is SO tender that Austin LOVES it!

I like to take chicken legs and throw them in with this sauce you can find at Meijer in the authentic aisle. It's in the Indian section and its a yellow curry and coconut sauce. Sooooo amazing... The chicken falls off the bone. I usually put in red peppers, onions and potatoes. You can use rice too! If your not a curry fan, Caribbean Jerk is fantastic too!

Re: NBR: Crock pot ideas....
I call this Man Chili - freezes great!
You rarely see Asian crockpot fare. This one is GOOD! Reminds me of the Kogi trucks that run all over So Cal.

I know everyone has moved on from cookbooks, but I still use this one and love it. It has great crock pot recipes as well as fast and easy dinners.
