Evil cold season

Due on the 17th. DH and I have plabs for dinner with my cousin and his wife at their house tonight. Cousin's wife just called to give me a heads up that she feels stuffy and might be coming down with a head cold, but Cousin and their LO not currently/have not been sick. God bless her for being thoughtful enough to warn me.

Still REALLY want to go and DH is dying to go, but he and they understand if I pull the plug. I am deathly afraid of being sick for labor...which could be any day now. Would you go?

Re: Evil cold season

  • I would definitely go.  It might be your last kid-free dinner...FOREVER!

  • True. Also, with my luck, I would not go and STILL get sick!! The grocery store is probably more perilous. Screw it.
  • I think if you decided that you weren't comfortable going, they would understand, but it sounds like you want to go, so why not? Just don't drink out of the same glass and bring some hand sanitizer.

  • I wouldn't go. How fun would it be to have a cold while trying to push your little out?

  • I wouldn't go. I'll be 38 weeks tomorrow and am sick now and feel like death. I'm stuffed up with a sore throat and a cough. Suckie thing is I am still working until next Friday and have to go to work tomorrow like this because my boss is leaving work early and I have to run a meeting.

Lurking here, and no its not fun. I had my DD while sick. I had a really bad cough, an upper respiratory infection, and pink eye. Thank god my daughter wasnt affected by it. But if you choose to go, have fun.
