We tried to start Sophie on solids at 5 1/2 months. So far the whole ordeal has been very trying. She'll eat cereal grudgingly, and will only take a few bites before tightly closing her mouth or spitting. Early on, sweet potatoes were the only puree she would eat - the baby bird open mouth and all. We've gone through practically all of the stage one purees, fruits and vegetables, and have finally found another puree that she'll eat. Prunes. Go figure.
Re: She will now eat 2 foods.
Good job with being persistent in having her try different stuff, I can imagine that takes some patience :-)
I read somewhere (I think something that someone posted on here) that babies and kids tastes for food are always changing, so she might start liking more stuff in the future.
Sounds like how Troy started eating. I hope for her it is just a stage. I know how frustrating it can be - I looked forward to when he could eat solids, thinking it would be fun to feed him and introduce all these new things and it was disappointing to have him refuse pretty much everything.
For Troy, we think that he outgrew his reflux meds by that point and eating just hurt him too much. He liked squash and green beans - bland stuff.
Hope she eats lots of those and you can add something new soon!
