Hyland's Teething Tablets=Horse tranquilizers?

This has happened a few times.  Liam was screaming his face off to go down for a nap.  At the 5 minute check in I have him 3 teething tablets.  He stopped crying immediately and passed out 20 seconds later. Has this happened to anyone else?  I read on the website that it relieves the pain so the child may pass out quickly.  I am not exactly complaining. If that is what it is I am happy, but if I am drugging my child and he is now in Eutopia listening to the beatles and dancing with unicorns and talking flowers I am a little nervous.

    I had heard that they were so diluted that it was little more than a placebo. I may have to break out the bottle we were given and try!

    hahaha.  I tried them one night since I had insomnia.  They were just tiny, chalkie nothings. I don't know why he passes out.

    This has happened to us on more than one occasion. My mom thinks they are the miracle pills. I don't know if it just simply distracts them because they love them and almost seems like they "chew" on them (I give them 2-3 at a time).  But I'll take it. 

    ETA: your post title freaked me out and thought there'd been some new discovery of what's actually in these pills lol

    Liam doesn't pass out but he definently gets happy when he sees the bottle even if he is screaming. As soom as he sees the bottle he stops and smiles real big. They seem to work really well for us but I may have created an addiction lol.

    They do the same thing with my LO.  As soon as I give them to her she calms down and passes out.  I do not know why they do that to her but I will take it!

    These things are lifesavers. We give him 3 at a time and he's so chill afterwards. It seems to work for us.
