One more thing re: Graco Snugride vs. Keyfit. I really liked the Snugride. It's easy to use and is easily compatible with any of the snap n go type strollers. I did not like that the base was hard to install tightly (even the fire department had a hard time with it) and the fabric on the model I had (which is surely discontinued now, 4 years later) wasn't very breathable and DS1 would sweat like crazy in it.
The Keyfit base is ridiculously easy to install tightly into our car, but the seat itself will be hard to 'snap' into any of the stroller frames since it isn't notched like the Snugride. The fabric on the seats we bought I can already tell is going to be easier to wipe clean and should breathe better than our Snugride seat. It did take us a little longer to figure out how to install the seat into the base, but that's probably because we are used to the Graco model. The base also seems to be slimmer/sit lower than the Graco base. And as I said before, the base/seat is more narrow so it will fit better if you have to install it with another carseat in the same row.
When DH was installing the Keyfits (we did it to make sure they would fit right and then took them back out) his initial reaction was "these are so much nicer than the seats the boys used." I'm reserving my full judgment until I see how easily the straps and the handle move on them. ie do the straps get twisted, does the handle stick (sometimes my Graco handle would, but that could be an age thing more than a model thing) etc.

We went with the Chicco Keyfit. A firefighter friend recommended it, and we had already been leaning towards it, anyway.
It was between the Britax and Chicco, those seemed to be the two best options that we researched. Space isnt an issue in my truck, but the Chicco seemed a little bit lighter than the Britax.
This. I believe that it was one of the Best Buys and Recommended from the most recent Consumer Reports.
I liked the larger weight limit.
