Chicco Keyfit 30. I like the ease of installation - the bases have a level on them Plus I wanted the Chicco liteway plus for a stroller and this snaps into it.
We got two Chicco Keyfit 30s. They have a low weight requirement (in case of preemies) and a higher weight limit (so they don't grow out of it in 2 months). It's compatible with the Chicco Cortina Travel stroller (we bought the double but they make a single). It's got great ratings!

We are reusing DD maxi cosi Mico. It's the lightest infant seat on the market. It has a low weight limit of 22lb but at 14 months DD is not 22lb.

It's true they all have to meet the same safety requirements, but some go above and beyond.
We went with the chicco keyfit 30. It's an excellent seat for a great price. Would have gone with the britax chaperone or b-ready if they weren't so stinkin' big.
We'll be using the Safety 1st onBoard 35 Air....again. It held up great with DS & we were pretty happy. We used it until he was 10 months old & at the 32 inch length limit.
We got it just in case we had a preemie-it fits baby as small as 4 lbs & up to 35 lbs. The preemie/newborn inserts were great-the nurse that inspected us on the way out of the hospital was impressed that the seat came with that. DS was only a little over 6 lbs when he was released-so the inserts were great. It also has great safety ratings as well.

My top pick was either of the britax ones, the bsafe or the chaperone because they go above and beyond as far as safety. However, we are getting the chicco keyfit 30 because I have a 2door car and the britax seats didn't go between the door and my passenger seat without maneuvering the carseat in awkward ways, plus some other issues with my passenger seat and the size of the carseats.
I tested the chicco keyfit 30 and it fits in my car and it's much easier to install as well, so I hope I'll be happier with this choice!
Btw, We're getting the city mini stroller and the chicco adapter.
I really liked the Keyfits, but when I was playing with the Double Snap n Go (I'm having twins) at Buy Buy Baby, the Graco Snugride 35s seemed to fit much more easily. So we have registered for 2 Snugrides.
We had a Snugride with the boys but it's too wide to fit 2 across in my car and still have part of the seat fold down so the boys can get in and out in the back. We went with the Keyfit 30s since they are more narrow and they are just a bit more difficult to install in the DSNG.
